Lanna was wonderful to work with. She was responsive and attentive, and took the time to listen to us, our needs, and come up with a great design for our teenage daughter's new bedroom. Thank you Lanna! We will be using her talents again soon for an upcoming kitchen remodel, so excited to see what she comes up with!

Beyond the Box Interiors helped with design, decorating and furniture for a kitchen, dining area, study, three baths and a family tv room. With the bathrooms we got a great mix of new marble and tile floors with vintage tile. Just the look we wanted. The other bathroom was a complete overhaul and looks spa-ish all the way. Affordable changes also. The dining and kitchen area gave us a very nice blend of more open space with more modern design and fewer walls but still retained some degree of separation between the rooms. In short, what we were looking for. For both the reworks of the study and our tv family room, we had some ideas on what we wanted and Lanna offered a few different concepts. In retrospect, she gave us sound advice and we were happier in the end letting her lead us on most aspects of reshuffling furniture and mixing in new pieces to freshen things up. She understands mixing new and existing. Lanna works at understanding your wants, giving options, and working things out if outcomes are not as expected. No surprise bills. She brings expertise and high degree value to design and remodeling. And the remodeling experience was pleasant all through the process. No hesitation in giving her high marks as a designer.

Lanna Ali-Hassan & her company, Beyond the Box Interiors, helped us blend our previous 1927 Mediterranean home design aesthetic to our new-build, open concept house here in MD. She provided creative design ideas for paint (all rooms), window coverings, wallpaper & wainscoting, and lighting; coordinated the purchase of new rugs and furniture; brought to life a darling children's play space in our family room and designed/coordinated construction of a new wet bar for downstairs. She helped us sort through all of our existing art and furniture and guided us where to place them alongside new pieces. She brought to each task just the right professionals, all of whom were talented, easy to work with and masters at their craft. Lanna is very attentive, responsive and flexible. She is a great listener and project manager. She is fun & easy to work with and had just the right touch to push us to consider design ideas that would never have occurred to us. There was no task too small or too big for Lanna and her team. We are so very pleased with all of the work we did with her help. We are sad that we don't have any more rooms to tackle! Lanna with Beyond the Box designed and managed an amazing kitchen remodel for my family that is both beautiful and functional. The process for the remodel was smooth and not stressful even with multiple small kids, pets, and life still happening in my house. My initial consultation with Lanna was for color choices for my master bathroom redecorating, but I was so appreciate of her help (and so overwhelmed) that I engaged her to take on the full project of new vanities, surfaces, shower, lighting, and fixtures. She brought a greater creativity than I expected (lifting the garden tub from the deck surround to access and effectively relocate plumbing options.) She also worked with me side by side to coordinate stone choices with rugs and window treatments I had already purchased, and added value by recommending the tub hardware be moved to create a sleeker look with a new quartz tub deck matching the vanity tops. When installation time was near, she found a contractor willing and able to complete the work beautifully, on time, and with an approval process for upgrades in services and costs as we went along. I am really happy with the results and would use her services again in a heartbeat!

Working with Lanna was an absolute joy. She took the time to understand our needs and preferences and offered several design choices that resulted in a home we have fallen in love with all over again. No part of the job was too big or small - from completely remodeling a powder room and updating a kitchen to selecting area rugs and pillows. Lanna guided us all along the way helping us to optimize our budget in ways that transformed our entrance, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, powder room, and en-suite. In addition to her design expertise, Lanna is an exceptional project manager who ensured that every detail was taken care of and the project stayed on budget and time. Lanna was great from the start of the process to the finish. There were a few smaller projects within the scope but the focus was on the renovations of the master and hall baths. She listened and her design selections were exceptional. The construction team members (Torres Construction) she works with are punctual and do excellent work. I’m extremely pleased with the finished product. If and when I choose to have other areas in my home remodeled, I would not hesitate to select Lanna again.

Barri at Beyond the Box helped me put together a plan for my main living area. I had already identified things I wanted but needed a sounding board and someone to show me how to put it together and help me make some decisions. She did a great job understanding my situation and gave me a plan that will guide me as I begin replace and upgrade the furniture.

Lanna and Barri were a great part of our team and we highly recommend their staging services for those looking to offer this for their listings. With their help, the home went under contract in 2 days and the sales price was more than $30K above list price. They were both extremely professional and easy to work with. We had a few scheduling adjustments that were needed, but they were very flexible and understanding. Both were easy to communicate with, and very responsive to emails and calls. They gave the initial quote without seeing the location, and then Lanna came out and walked through the space with our team to create an action plan. They knew their inventory well during the initial walk-through, and made the necessary adjustments to ensure that the spaces were designed beautifully. The entire atmosphere when walking through the home was inviting, serene, and enhanced the unique details and qualities this home had to offer. They also went above and beyond with their services. They alerted us to a few minor details that needed to be dealt with by the contractors, made sure that the A/C was working throughout the home, and that lighting was available for areas that didn't have overhead lights. Words can't express how much I love my home right now, none of which would have been possible without Lanna and Beyond the Box Interiors. This project was not an easy one - we did hit a couple unexpected structural snags along the way - but Lanna stood with me every step of the way. She helped me to achieve the kitchen I'd been dreaming of (AND even helped me update several other areas throughout my whole house - including a beautiful basement makeover and new front entrance) all while staying completely within my budget. We worked with Lana to renovate our master and hall baths. The results came out fantastic! Lanna worked with us extensively on the design of the bathroom remodels and then worked with Torres Construction to implement the design. Barri and her team are amazing! I provided her my color scheme and she provided some holiday decorating ideas and made my home come to life! The set-up and take-down was quick and she was so flexible with scheduling! The bonus is that Beyond the Box stores my holiday décor and return the next holiday ready to re-decorate...can't beat that!!
